FAQs for E-School LIVE Attendees
What’s my next step?
If you haven’t yet, fill out this form. It asks:
- Where you practice
- Whether you have malpractice insurance
- Your endodontist’s name, if you work closely with one
- The file system you use
- Your dental assistant information
- What you want to get out of the experience
- How far you’ve gotten into the online E-School curriculum
- Any dietary restrictions or preferences
As the event date gets closer, you’ll be invited to a one-on-one Discovery Call with Dr. Chopra, so she can determine what kinds of cases to find for you, to help challenge you and increase your endodontic confidence during the event.
What should I do ahead of E-School LIVE?
- Collect extracted teeth. Check out the ‘What should I pack?’ section below for details about what kind of teeth you need to bring.
- Book your lodging and transportation.
- Secure your assistant, if you haven’t already done so.
- Send us your malpractice insurance information, if you haven’t already done so.
- Add Dr. Chopra to your phone contacts. Call 704-759-6520 if you have an emergency getting to Charlotte or you need help locating the group during the event.
- Purchase travel insurance. This is mandatory. We recognize that last-minute emergencies happen, and because of this, we require E-School LIVE participants to purchase travel insurance to cover them in these circumstances.
- Prepare to take E-School with Coaching.
- If you have not yet taken E-School with Coaching, you may dual enroll in both programs, with a special discounted price applied to Coaching. It is mandatory for you to attend all of the Coaching calls live with your camera on and be an active participant. Then, as a BONUS, you’ll be re-enrolled in the following Coaching cohort at no additional cost, so you can solidify your understanding.
- If you have taken E-School with Coaching, you will receive BONUS complimentary access to the next session of E-School with Coaching, so you can review the curriculum and come prepared to practice on patients. Please keep in mind this re-take is mandatory, and you must be an active participant in calls with your camera on. We will be working with real patients, so it is critical you have a solid foundation!
- Continue going through the E-School modules. There is a gold mine of information in there, and you have lifetime access. You may wish to register for the Empowered Endodontics Academy with Dr. Chopra for ongoing coaching calls, a private Facebook group, and accountability. This is a smaller, more intimate group where you can truly benefit from Dr. Chopra’s mentorship and expertise.

When and where should I arrive?
We get started early on Friday morning, so I suggest you arrive in Charlotte no later than Thursday evening. The best airport is CLT (Charlotte Douglas Airport). You are responsible for your air and ground transportation, so drive yourself, rent a car, download Uber/Lyft*, or call a cab to get to E-School LIVE on time each day.
* Please bear in mind that Uber/Lyft can be very slow on the weekends in Charlotte, so if that will be your main method of transportation, plan accordingly!

Do I need to bring an assistant?
Bringing an assistant is mandatory. This is a crucial part of the E-School LIVE experience. Your investment covers the cost of you AND your assistant. Ideally, you’ll bring an assistant who works with you at your practice so you can become an endo dream team. Your dental assistant can’t be your mom or your friend – unless they’re trained as a professional dental assistant. The person you bring really must be a pro.
Can I bring a second assistant?
Yes, you may bring a second assistant! There is a $500 fee for your second assistant, which covers the cost of food and my team’s support. Email support@soniachopradds.com for more information.
What if I can’t find an assistant to bring?
There have been some instances where dentists had trouble securing a dental assistant to come with them. If you’re struggling with this, here’s what I recommend:
- Reach out to past LIVE alumni in the Facebook group, to see if one of them would act as your assistant.
- Ask another doctor from your practice if they’d like to act as your assistant.
- Reach out to the local Charlotte-area dental resident program to see if a resident would like to act as your assistant.
- Please note that, for all of these options, you should let them know that only YOU will be performing procedures, and they will ONLY be acting in an assistant capacity.
In the past, we’ve had doctor duos take LIVE twice, so each doctor has the opportunity to experience it from the doctor-side and the assistant-side, allowing them to implement and improve even further
If none of these options are working out for you, and you’ve tried them all, please reach out to support@soniachopradds.com. We will see if one of Dr. Chopra’s assistants could be available to assist you during your LIVE session. There is no guarantee that we can find an assistant for you. Please note that, if an assistant is found for you, there is a fee to cover their time and our effort.
What are the insurance requirements?
Immediately as soon as you register, send to support@soniachopradds.com a copy of your malpractice insurance COI with an addendum or notification letter that specifies that you are covered for the specific dates and location of E-School LIVE.
You must inform your insurance provider of the dates and location for this exposure.
If you cannot get the coverage, you CANNOT attend, and you will NOT be issued a refund. This is because we are taking care of real-life patients, and we need to all be adequately covered.
Please note that, if you are Canadian or international, you may have extra requirements or questions from your insurance provider, so make sure you’ve informed your malpractice insurance about this exposure before you apply.
- Alberta, Canada Dentists – College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA), provides Medical Malpractice coverage for members that are attending courses in the United States. This coverage is only provided for members that are registered and practicing with the CDSA in Alberta, Canada. As of March 2023, any Dentist who is registered and in good standing with the CDSA has coverage to attend any courses in the USA.
- For other Canadian provinces, standard malpractice does not typically cover an exposure in the USA. If you reach out to your insurance provider and find this is the case, please contact excessprotection@jdimi.com to inquire about additional standalone coverage, which has worked for previous Canadian LIVE participants, but there is an additional fee for this coverage.
If you are a dental resident, dental residency insurance is insufficient to qualify, as it typically only covers treatments offered through your program or hospital.
Here are some examples of what we’re looking for:
In the state of North Carolina, according to the statute below, the temporary practice of dentistry is allowed as long as the provider is a licensed dentist. Dr. Sonia Chopra has her own liability coverage for the program, however, all participants must inform their malpractice carrier of the event and of this exposure. You may want to forward this information along to your carrier.
You can find the statute here:
https://www.ncleg.gov/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/PDF/ByArticle/Chapter_90/Article_2.pdf
Please scroll down to § 90-29. Necessity for license; dentistry defined; exemptions. From there, go down to (c), and it’s (5).
” § 90-29. Necessity for license; dentistry defined; exemptions.”
” (c) The following acts, practices, or operations, however, shall not constitute the unlawful practice of dentistry: “
” (5) The temporary practice of dentistry by licensed dentists of another state or of any territory or country when the same is performed, as clinicians, at meetings of organized dental societies, associations, colleges or similar dental organizations, or when such dentists appear in emergency cases upon the specific call of a dentist duly licensed to practice in this State;”
The North Carolina Dental Board considers AGD PACE an approved such organization and soniachopradds.com LLC is an approved provider of AGD PACE and proof of this can be found on their website here https://www.agd.org/2/education/pace/findaprovider/state.asp?State=nc&Submit.x=33&Submit.y=6.
What if my schedule has changes? Can I get a refund or attend LIVE at a later date?
Unfortunately, due to the extremely time-intensive and personalized nature of preparing to host E-School LIVE, we cannot offer refunds.
Each dentist’s experience at LIVE is tailored to meet your educational needs and the gaps in your endo confidence. The cases are hand-selected by Dr. Chopra personally, specifically for you. The experience for you is not the same as it is for any other dentist. Plus, if you can’t come, the patients will miss out on treatment they have been promised.
If you must miss your session and there is enough time ahead of the program to make a shift, you may defer to a later session of E-School LIVE only if you have found a qualified replacement for your spot. This person needs to meet all of the E-School LIVE attendance qualifications, AND they must be comfortable with taking on the cases assigned to you for that LIVE. So you can see why we require travel insurance!
What if I still have a question?
Reach out to support@soniachopradds.com and we will be happy to assist you.
